Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian, who's been performing for a long time. She was born in Kildare, Ireland, on 16th March 1984. She appeared with Stephen Fry on QI. Aisling O'Sullivan, better known as the stage name Aisling Bea (born on 16 March 1984) is an Irish actress, writer and stand-up comedian. Bea started her professional career in stand-up comedy in 2011, after playing a few small roles that she acted for Irish and British TV dramas beginning in 2009. From 2012 on, Bea was appearing on sitcoms or sketch comedy. In the wake of her success during the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, she was scheduled for a range of panel show. From 2016 to 2017 she served as a captain for 8 Out of 10 Cats and is a frequent contestant in the show's sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Born to Brian O'Sullivan, the actress was blessed with one sister called Sinead. She became only the second female to be a winner of the show So You Think You're Funny in 2012. Bea is her surname in honor of her deceased father. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian was a veterinarian who worked with horses who died by suicide aged three. But, she didn't discover the reason of death until she was 13 years old. She chose the stage name Bea in honor of her father who passed away. Bea also wrote a 2017 article in The Guardian on her family's death experience. Bea and her younger sister Sinead were nurtured by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) an elementary school teacher and jockey trainer, as well as a professional jockey for a time. The family was horse and race meeting obsessed. Bea spent her childhood as a Tour Guide at the Irish National Stud. From a very young age, Bea knew that she did not want to pursue racing as a career. Instead she loved the performing arts.
