Maggie Grace is an American actor who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington Ohio in order to settle at Los Angeles. However, in 2001, despite finances, she was able to land her first major part in the web-based video series Rachel's Room as the lead character. The television film Murder in Greenwich where she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford, the character in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was selected for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Leaving the series Grace would like to be on film more frequently, having starred opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The actress was on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. The role was reprised as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon again in Lost's finale and in two additional episodes. In 2013 she appears in the sixth episode of Californication. She plays Faith as a groupie, and is also a model actors. She's a Gyllenhaal. daughter of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as younger in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in the films of her father in his adolescent years. Together with her brother she was also in Donnie Darko (2000). She then appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performance as a lead character actress in Secretary (2002) which is which is an erotic romantic drama and Sherrybaby (2006). In 2006, she received a nomination from the Golden Globe Award. After several commercially successful films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). For her performance as the single mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Then she continued to play in comedies along with dramas, such as Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (12). Alongside her work as a Secret Service agent, she was also seen on screen in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). The most recent roles include the protagonist The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal began her professional career as a screenwriter and director in 2021, when she directed and wrote her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter. The film was awarded Best Screenplay at The Venice International Film Festival, and it was nominated by the Academy Award.
